Day 35 - Mybster to John O'Groats

It is done!✅

1031 miles and every step of the way from Land's End on 31st May, to John O'Groats this afternoon.😎

Without doubt the hardest thing I have ever done both mentally and physically. Further reflection will have to wait, as we have some celebrating to do tonight.

In brief, today really had two parts: First 17 miles to Clare Hall (a village hall not a person!) at Nybster, before a team regroup. Then we all set out for the final 11 miles to JOG via the cliff tops round Duncansby Head.

The morning session started with Greg leading us out by quad bike then tractor. The story being that since Greg parted company with his big toenail somewhere in Wales, he's been blagging lifts on a variety of different forms of transport, so this was him clocking up two more vehicle types.

The morning was largely damp & dull, and with team orders to regroup at lunch there was little incentive to push it.

The lunch stop was more akin to a ceilidh with the Proclaimers being top of the playlist. Kate also did some nice awards and we had a fine lunch before heading back out into the rain.

The afternoon took us up on to the boggy cliff tops as we headed to Duncansby Head before turning left to finish at John O'Groats. Five of us finished together in what was quite an emotional moment. This run has tested us all mentally and physically to our limits.

Much celebrating followed and a team night out is imminent. Suspect it might not be a quiet one!

A bit more detail in tomorrow's final blog post ..
