The penultimate day.
Another 35 miles. There's not much of anything up here other than vast expenses of bog. I think we just made three turnings today in those 35 miles.
Road section for the first 11 miles then into a forrest, then bog-crossing road. I ran with Sarah initially, then joined by David, Jamie, Lora & Tina. The road across the road was taking forever, so decided to just get the head down and run into lunch at 22 miles.
After lunch, we were required to go in groups to minimize potential disruption to forestry operations. Greg had been boosted and was looking for a buddy after lunch, so he joined Sarah & I and we took a speed walking approach to checkpoint 4.
Greg is good value and his chicken antics among the highlights of the after lunch section (see video)
At checkpoint 4 Greg opted for the minibus, and Sarah & I ran the final section to the end and the 1,000 mile mark.
One day to go now & just 28 miles to John O'Groats. Forecast is shocking so it may be a damp end to the run.
We're being watched
The Mackays can keep it. It's just bog!
Jamie & David finishing the day & reaching the 1,000 mile mark
