Day 26 - Rowardennan to Bridge of Orchy

A brief blog due to painful internet connectivity.

In making any comment about running on the WHW I am always humbled by those who have run it in a "oner" in the annual WHW race.

Today was a fairly challenging day, which started with the always fiddly path up the East side of Loch Lomond. First checkpoint was at Inveranan and once again slight disbelief from WHW walkers that anyone might be running the WHW never mind anything longer.

The second leg took us a long the River Falloch, past Crainlarich and down to Auchtertyre - a full 38k before lunch.

The afternoon was a quicker affair, with an ice-cream stop at Tyndrum. Run tactics then changed as there was an accident between Tyndrum & Bridge of Orchy, closing the road & preventing crew vehicles getting to the end of the run. This turned out to only be a temporary issue but was sufficient to influence us to walk rather than run and risk waiting around.

In all it was quite a tough day but one of controlled exercion. Tomorrow is a bigger day and so keen to not empty the tank. And another 33 miles closer to John O'Groats.😎
