Day 13 - Elsemere to Frodsham

Another 39 miles today, in a day of two halves.

The morning was mainly run on roads interspersed with short sections of alleged paths, mixed with fields of cows. I set off running with Jamie & Sarah, but they are faster than me on roads & I quickly got dropped.

This left me hacking my own route through the assorted sections of overgrown paths and dealing with fields of cows on a solo basis. Doable but a bit dull. By pitstop 2 & lunch I managed to arrive before Jamie & Sarah left but decided not to chase after them.

Instead in the afternoon I buddied up with Vicki and we power-walked the last 19 mile section. Nice to have company and some Scottish chat after the solo morning.

We are now in Frodsham, which is the posh end of Runcorn (a low bar). I've never been a fan of Runcorn, ever since their football team beat Stafford Rangers back in 1977 which I witnessed as a travelling away fan.

Douglas in our group described Runcorn as the armpit of England. For balance I've listed all the good things about Runcorn:

(1) Their football team play in the Northern Premier League - this means we are now officially in the north

(2) It is over 400 miles from Land's End

(3) It makes people who live in Grangemouth feel like they live in a beautiful town.

With apologies to anyone from Runcorn.😉

So, 5 of the 6 days of our high volume 2nd week are done. Just one more 39 mile day and we get rest day 2.😊

Black Swans

Trails on later part of day with Vicki not sure what's going on with my cap

A final mile in Wales

A path?

Another path?

One of the many fields of cows who also want to do RunBrit it would seem

Image at hotel reception - clearly this image of industrial decline was the best they could find to showcase the place. I rest my case.😉
